Our Commitment to Accessibility
TaskStation is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We believe that everyone should be able to access local services and earning opportunities regardless of ability. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Status
We aim to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone. We are actively working toward full conformance and regularly test our platform for accessibility issues.
Accessibility Features
TaskStation includes the following accessibility features:
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements can be accessed and operated using a keyboard alone, with visible focus indicators
- Screen reader support: Proper heading hierarchy, ARIA labels, and semantic HTML to support assistive technologies
- Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios for readability
- Responsive design: The platform adapts to different screen sizes and can be zoomed up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- Alt text: Images include descriptive alternative text where applicable
- Error identification: Form validation errors are clearly identified and described in text
- Adjustable font sizes: Users can select Normal, Large, or Extra-Large text sizes in the accessibility settings
- High contrast mode: A high contrast toggle is available in the accessibility settings for users with low vision
- Skip navigation: Skip-to-content links allow keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we are aware of some areas that may need improvement:
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from external services may not meet our accessibility standards
- Map features: Our map-based task browsing may be difficult to use with screen readers. We provide list-view alternatives for all map functionality
- Complex forms: Some multi-step forms may be challenging for certain assistive technologies. We are working to improve form accessibility
- User-generated content: Content posted by users (task descriptions, reviews) may not always be fully accessible, though we encourage users to write clearly
If you encounter any accessibility barriers not listed here, please let us know so we can address them.
