1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using TaskStation ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and TaskStation.

2. Description of Service

TaskStation is an online marketplace platform that connects people who need tasks completed ("Posters") with people willing to complete those tasks ("Taskers"). We provide the technology to facilitate these connections but are not a party to any agreement between users. TaskStation does not employ, manage, or supervise taskers, and has no control over the quality, safety, or legality of tasks performed.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account on TaskStation. By using our service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these terms.

4. User Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You agree to provide accurate and up-to-date information during registration
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms

5. Posting Tasks

When posting a task on TaskStation, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate, complete, and honest descriptions of the task
  • Set a fair and reasonable budget for the work required
  • Not post tasks that are illegal, fraudulent, harmful, or in violation of any applicable law
  • Not discriminate against taskers based on protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010
  • Honour your commitment to pay the agreed amount upon satisfactory task completion
  • Ensure that any task you post complies with relevant UK health and safety regulations

6. Accepting and Completing Tasks

When accepting a task as a tasker, you agree to:

  • Complete the task as described to the best of your ability
  • Communicate promptly and professionally with the poster throughout
  • Arrive on time and be prepared with any necessary tools or materials
  • Respect the poster's property, privacy, and personal space
  • Not engage in any illegal, dangerous, or harmful activities while performing tasks
  • Complete the task within the timeframe agreed with the poster

7. Payments and Fees

TaskStation currently does not process payments directly. All payment arrangements are made directly between posters and taskers. TaskStation is not responsible for payment disputes, non-payment, or overpayment between users. We strongly recommend that users agree on price, scope, and payment method before work begins. Any service fees charged by TaskStation will be clearly communicated before you commit to a transaction.

8. Ratings and Reviews

After task completion, both parties may leave ratings and written reviews. You agree to provide honest, accurate feedback. Reviews must not:

  • Contain false, misleading, or defamatory statements
  • Include personal contact information or attempt to circumvent the platform
  • Be used to extort, threaten, or harass another user
  • Be fabricated or submitted by someone other than the involved parties

TaskStation reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these guidelines.

9. Prohibited Activities

You may not use TaskStation to:

  • Post or complete tasks that involve illegal activities
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, or intimidate other users
  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Send spam, unsolicited messages, or automated communications
  • Attempt to circumvent the platform's messaging or payment systems
  • Collect, scrape, or harvest other users' personal data
  • Impersonate another person or entity
  • Interfere with the proper functioning of the platform

10. Safety

Your safety is important to us. We recommend that all users:

  • Communicate through the TaskStation messaging system before sharing personal contact details
  • Meet in public places when possible for the first interaction
  • Tell someone else about the task details and who you are meeting
  • Trust your instincts and report any suspicious behaviour
  • Verify tasker identities through their profiles and reviews

TaskStation provides safety features but cannot guarantee the behaviour of any user. You use the platform at your own risk.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UK law, TaskStation shall not be liable for:

  • Any disputes, injuries, or losses arising from interactions between users
  • Damage to property or personal injury during task performance
  • The quality, safety, or legality of tasks completed
  • The conduct of any user on or off the platform
  • Service interruptions, data loss, or unauthorised access to your account

TaskStation's total liability shall not exceed the fees paid by you to TaskStation in the twelve months preceding the claim.

12. Termination

You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in prohibited activities, or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the platform ceases immediately. We may retain certain data as required by law.

13. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises between you and another user, we encourage you to resolve it directly through our messaging system. TaskStation may, at its discretion, mediate disputes but is not obligated to do so. Any legal disputes shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by posting a notice on the platform. Continued use of TaskStation after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
